Wall Tape

I've been wanting to spruce up our blank, stark white walls.  Temporary wallpaper is an appealing but intimidating option.  Wall tape, however, is a project I would happily take on.  It's such a creative way to make a space your own - with endless possibilities!  And you won't have to worry about not being able to remove it.  Now can someone tell me where I can get my hands on these?

O'verlays

I stumbled across O'verlays while perusing Apartment Therapy a while back and have been really excited to try it out. It was way too expensive to transport all of our furniture when we moved from New York to Los Angeles so needless to say, the majority of our new furnishings came from Ikea. We have a white 4-drawer MALM dresser that I'm dying to pair up with the Gigi design. Or maybe go simple with Anne?

"O'verlays are lightweight, decorative fretwork panels that come in several patterns and sizes. They are paintable and easily attach to furniture, mirrors, walls and glass. Compatible with popular IKEA pieces such as MALM, RAST, PAX, EXPEDIT, EFFEKTIVE and LACK; they instantly upgrade plain pieces. Perfect for your next DIY project." -from the O'verlays website. Also, see their story here.

Mignon Kitchen Co.

I can't believe we're well into 2012 - how time flies! I'm so sorry it's been so long since my last post. I've been blessed with so many exciting projects and amazing clients to work with but with a shortage of time (and sleep) blogging was put on the back burner. I promise to be better!

I just found out that the lovely Rachel of Elephantine recently launched Mignon Kitchen Co. - an adorable and wonderfully curated shop filled with goods for prepping, baking, serving, and sharing food. I have my eye on these adorable mini boxes. Aren't they so perfect for a little sweet treat?

Outdoor Living

I'm not sure if I've said this but I love, love, love our new apartment in L.A. There is just so much more space here - plus, having an extra bed and bath room is a perk when we're visited by friends and family. I'll eventually get to posting some pictures - for the time being, it is just simply not ready for the photo shoot. My only (minor) gripe about our new abode is the fact that we don't have any outdoor space. We live in a semi-high rise so I know that a yard is out of the question however, I do wish for a balcony or patio. In fact, most of the other apartment buildings in our area offer balconies and/or a rooftop deck. Unfortunately for us, I fell in love with the one building that doesn't have either. In the meantime, a girl can dream right?

Urban Walls

Vinyl wall decals are a renters dream - they go up fast and can be removed without damaging the walls. When Danielle and Paul of Urban Walls sent over their designs, I immediately fell in love with their house rules decal. I've been looking for some to spruce up our blank white walls and it fits the bill perfectly. Don't forget to stop by the shop and take a peek at their designs.

Chalkboard Striped Walls

A while back, I stumbled across Danielle Oakey Interiors via Made By Girl and have been obsessing about the black and white striped walls in Danielle's daughter's room. Isn't it stunning?

Danielle used chalkboard paint for the black stripes!

She even left a sweet little message in the bottom right corner.

Obviously, her adorable little girl loves it too! To see more pictures, click here.

Zig Zag Duvet

In love with the zig zag duvet from Urban Outfitters... but they only carry twin and queen sizes! Somebody convince them to carry it in king! Pretty please?

Painted Furniture

We were originally going to replace most of our furniture once we settled into our new apartment in LA but scouring the web for fun, colorful pieces only led to hopelessness - the price tags are depressing! I'm simply not willing to starve myself for weeks just to be able to afford a coffee table... We probably can't move all of our furniture but there are a few pieces we currently own that can use a face lift. I have absolutely no experience painting furniture/walls, etc. so keep your fingers crossed for me!

My first attempt in painting furniture: It's not completely finished yet - I'm going to lightly sand it down and give it one last coat but I'm really happy with the results!

Wall Envy

Now, I'm not going to lie - I know it's ridiculous to plan how we're going to decorate our new apartment when we haven't even found a place yet... but I can't help myself. My mind is racing.
We won't be moving too many items from our current apartment - and since the only pieces of furniture that we've acquired are a set of Crate and Barrel Lounge couches, we have a clean slate to work with.

I would love to brighten the space up with colorful walls and fun pops of color.

Or should we attempt wallpaper?

I can't seem to settle on a particular style - bold but neutral? Or bright and fun? (Though I'm leaning towards a bit of both.. haha.) Oh, the decisions! We also want to take the opportunity to add a personal touch to our new space. Our current apartment is more a mish mosh of furniture that we've either acquired out of necessity or inherited along the way. It would be nice for our home to reflect our style and personality.

Framed Walls

I'm dying to try out a collage of frames in our new apartment, wherever that is. It's such a beautiful way to display all of the special moments and items in our life together.
