una vida hermosa

Life is beautiful.

Months before the trips to LA and Salt Lake City (for Alt) were planned, my mom and I booked a vacation to Madrid. It's our first trip to Spain and I'm (quoting Rachel) pee my pants excited. We're leaving later tonight and for the next week, we'll be people watching in Retiro Park, browsing the Prado Museum for inspiration, walking Gran Via to finally see the Metropolis building for ourselves, going to Plaza de Cibeles to see the famous Cibeles fountain and consuming vast amounts of delicious food and vino. What makes this trip super special is the fact that I can experience this all with my mom! I'll for sure share our adventures when we return but in the meantime, I would love any suggestions on places to go, things to try, or could work some kind of a miracle and teach me Espanol in a couple of hours!

    Wow..that's so great! I've never been there, and I think it's so very special that you'll have that time with your mom! Can't wait to see pictures:)

    Janie, you and your mom are going to have such a fantastic and special time together! I really can't wait to hear all about it when you return. Remember to take lots of gorgeous pictures (though I've no doubt you will).

    (P.S. Still crying that you won't be in NYC. It was crazy getting out here to the east coast! There was a crazy snowstorm, and it took 12 hours of travel...not quite as crazy as your 24 hour trip to LA, but...well, I'll have to tell you about it when you get back ;)

    How exciting! I've never been to madrid, only to Valencia on the coast. it was so beautiful! My sister and I have talked about taking a girls trip to spain though. maybe then you can give me some suggestions on where to go!
