i heart new york

Oh, New York - how I miss you!

I'm especially enamored with the New York Coffee cup.  I used to see these (disposable) coffee cups served from every street corner in Manhattan but never *missed* them until we moved.

Summer Sandals

I can understand why people love the weather here in So Cal.  80 degrees in the middle of April?  It's glorious.  Warm weather means cute sandals to show off brightly polished toes.  These sandals from Anthropologie fit the bill.

Mignon Kitchen Co.

I can't believe we're well into 2012 - how time flies! I'm so sorry it's been so long since my last post. I've been blessed with so many exciting projects and amazing clients to work with but with a shortage of time (and sleep) blogging was put on the back burner. I promise to be better!

I just found out that the lovely Rachel of Elephantine recently launched Mignon Kitchen Co. - an adorable and wonderfully curated shop filled with goods for prepping, baking, serving, and sharing food. I have my eye on these adorable mini boxes. Aren't they so perfect for a little sweet treat?

An East Coast Girl at Heart

Normally around this time of year, I'd start bringing out my fall and winter clothing in anticipation of my favorite season, autumn, and half-dreading the winter to come. I start living in boots, comfy sweaters and warm scarves. Autumn brings around my birthday, as well as my mom's, plus the air becomes refreshingly cool and brisk and the leaves start changing into gorgeous colors. Now that we no longer live in New York, I'm not sure what to expect here in LA. It kinda bums me out. Speaking of being bummed, after trying so many different types (brands, styles, etc.) of boots over the years, I found my perfect boot. I've gone through 5 or 6 different pairs of the Enzo Angiolini 'Zoot' boot (pictured above) and I wish I was smart enough to stock up because I cannot find it in my size. Anywhere.

What is your favorite season? Does it correlate to a special memory? Also, if anyone has any recommendations for their favorite fall boot, please send it over!

I Heart Zella Pants

So, a little while ago, I signed up for some classes at The Bar Method and used that as an excuse to shop for a few more workout pieces. Why not, right? There were some great reviews for Zella pants on the Nordstrom website and figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. I was in love the moment I tried them on. They are, hands down, the most comfortable workout pants I have ever worn and they also don't break the bank. If you're in the market for some athletic wear, check them out!

On our recent trip to Santa Barbara, we spent some time downtown browsing on State Street. The moment we walked into Plum Goods, I was immediately smitten as a kitten. Plum Goods is a beautifully curated (and styled), truly unique, eco chic boutique that is jam packed with handmade jewelry, stationery, home goods, decor and much more! If you're ever in the area, be sure to stop in!

Rose Bowl Flea Market

One of my favorite things about living in southern California is the number of fabulous flea markets and swap meets in the surrounding areas. There is at least one to go to every Sunday morning. Open on the 2nd Sunday of every month, the Rose Bowl Flea Market is by far the largest one we've been to and every inch of packed with vintage jewelry, furniture, knick knacks and tons more. The size of it was a bit overwhelming but Ryan and I had a fantastic time browsing and even came home with the cutest little cabinet for our bathroom. Are there flea markets in your area? What do you usually shop for when you're there?

From Sun Kissed to Sun Crisped

Please forgive my recent lack of blog posts. We're still reeling from our move and...

Ryan and I visited the Rose Bowl Flea Market last Sunday where we both found a few goodies. In addition to a cute little cabinet for our bathroom, I also came home with THE WORST sunburn I've ever experienced (three days later, it still hurts to move my arms, sleeping on my back is borderline excruciating... oh and did I mention my shoulders are blistering?). Lesson learned: sunblock must be reapplied every 2-3 hours. In the meantime, I'm hiding out at home with a ginormous bottle of aloe and moving around pretty slowly.

P.S. - I might as well catch up on some reading + would appreciate book recommendations! :)

Based in Brooklyn, New York, MAPTOTE offers fun totes with schematic maps of various cities featuring their neighborhoods, city icons and landmarks. I love them so much, I had to order a NYC tote for myself.

Credit Card Cutlery

Remember that time you were at a restaurant and found an unknown substance stuck to your haphazardly rinsed fork? Sure, you can flag down your server but wouldn't it be nice to have a (clean) set of cutlery with you at all times?

(Okay, so I can barely remember to carry my lip balm when I head out but hey, it's a cool concept.)

Such lovely pieces - perfect for weddings but I'd jump for joy to don any of these pieces to a glamorous soiree. All images from Twigs & Honey.

Just Unpacked at One Sydney Road

I've always thought that Piper of One Sydney Road has amazing taste. I mean, have you seen the beautifully curated selection in the shop? This time she has completely outdone herself because when I saw these bags, my jaw hit the floor. Want. Covet. Drool. I can picture myself toting one along to a farmers market and stock piling delicious fare. Stop by OSR and pick one out for yourself. STAT. (Images from One Sydney Road)

I Heart NY Necklace - Zoë Chicco

I've been obsessively trying to find (non-cheesy) NYC/Queens paraphernalia to bring with me to L.A.... as if I'll forget the only home I've ever known. I can't help but lust after this beautiful necklace by Zoë Chicco... it says it all.
